My name is Sascha Reihs, and I am a 27-year-old Diploma Product Designer based in Germany. After completing my Abitur in May 2017, I pursued a degree in Industrial Design at h_da. Over the course of five years (10 semesters), I gained a deep understanding of design principles and graduated as a Diploma Designer. In addition, I completed several online courses in UX/UI design to expand my knowledge in digital product development, like the Google UX Design Course over several months.

I began my professional journey as a Junior Product Designer at Operations1, where I quickly acquired new skills and embraced the fast-paced learning environment. After about a year, I was promoted to Product Designer, a role in which I focused on delivering the best possible user experience for our SaaS product. When my design lead at Operations1 left after two years and four months, I found myself without a more senior designer to learn from and decided it was time for a new environment where I could keep growing. I joined carbmee as a Product Designer, working alongside a senior designer and an experienced design lead. There, I gained deeper insight into how AI is changing the design process, and worked on translating complex emission regulations into simple, usable product features.

Throughout my career as a Product Designer, I've had the opportunity to deepen my expertise in Product Design, UX/UI, Design Systems and AI, particularly through using tools like Claude to rethink parts of the design-to-development workflow. I've also worked closely with cross-functional teams and developers within an agile SCRUM framework, which has been a core part of my daily work and shaping my collaborative approach to design.

For my professional future, I would like to take the next step into becoming a Senior Product Designer, reshaping the role of a Product Designer through AI, and in the longer term, growing into a design leadership role.
