My mission
It is important for me to always create the best possible and most intuitive user experience. It is the best feeling when users love your designs and provide positive feedback. Next to this, I believe that one key element for success is the collaboration with others and sharing the knowledge I have built up over my professional career.
Through multiple workshops and presentations I have shared my gained knowledge in several companies already.
During my design internship at Twentyone Brands I have held a workshop for basic animation in After Effects. This was important at this time to be able to provide customers additional benefits and bring our designs to life. After I left to study further I have seen that more and more animations made their way into the company website, which filled me with joy and happiness.
Also at Operations1 I’ve held multiple workshops and presentations to share my knowledge. Especially during the time of implementation for the design system, my team and I held multiple sessions together with Frontend Engineers to teach the benefits and structure of a design system. We also organized a public event called ‘Variables: Connecting Design System to Code’ where we presented our approach into designing, planning and implementing a design system. Lots of designers from different companies and product managers came into our office to listen along.
At carbmee, knowledge sharing looks a little different. Instead of public workshops, our design team holds regular internal design feedback sessions, where we critique and refine each other's work together. It's a format I've come to value just as much, and it's also where I've started exploring how AI can support and reshape parts of our design process.
Starting as a Junior Product Designer at Operations1 and being promoted after one year to Product Designer, especially because of my design lead at the time, Ekaterina (Kate) Liebich, I realised one major personal thing: in the future, I would like to guide other designers myself, becoming a design lead and sharing my knowledge with them the way she shared hers with me. At carbmee, I found that same kind of guidance again in my design lead, Christian Mücke, from whom I've learned a great deal. Working alongside him has only strengthened that goal, I want to become the kind of design lead for others that Kate and Christian have been for me.
